A Message From The President - November 3, 2011
I hope this letter finds each of you well and you are ready for another great school year and basketball season!
Last year was a huge success for the growth of the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches. We ended the year with over 250 members, put on a very successful all-star game that featured the top senior boys and girls basketball players from across the state, started our first coaches poll and maintained an association web-site.
This year, our board agreed that we should continue building our web-site so that it offers more for coaches and is more user- friendly. We are currently in the process of making that happen.
We also hope to continue to build on the great things we did last year.
I am also excited to announce that we are close to finishing our 501(C)3 non-profit status. This will enable us to receive funding that would not other- wise be available and it will bring us recognition on a National level.
We hope you will continue to support and take part in our association as each of you are the reason why our association is successful. I can’t thank you enough! As a reminder, please send in your dues for the 2011- 2012 season as soon as possible.
I am very excited about the direction our association is
heading and sincerely hope you will continue to support basket- ball, our players and coaches throughout the great state of Alaska.
- Dave Porter, AABC President
